Understanding disease in space,
and how it evolves

We study the genetic causes of human disease, the biological mechanisms behind it,
and how disease evolves, and we apply what we find to better therapies.
Our current focus is somatic mosaicism: genetic changes in a subset of cells, and the environment around them.

Five elements of our research: spatial context, cellular heterogeneity and change, disease evolution, model systems in vivo, and translation to patient impact

Internships are open

For undergraduate students thinking about graduate school,
and for those who want to work as a research assistant.
We strongly recommend starting with an internship.
It is the best way to see how our lab works, and for us to get to know you.
